Ethical Email Marketing Tips
Note the name of this article, Ethical email marketing. It is important to stress the ethical part here.
Anyone that has an email is perfectly aware that not all marketers use email in an ethical manner to generate sales. Here we are going to take a look at what it means to use email marketing ethically.
Where do you get the email addresses?
For most people that are looking to use email to market their products and services they have developed a page on their website where they can get a person’s name and email. Most often this is done by offering a free article or newsletter.
This is also usually the first page to pop up when you go to the website and in order to get to what you wanted your type in your name and email thinking, No big deal.
Ethical Use of Email Addresses
Obviously the people that have been to your website are there because they are interested in what it is you have to offer. With email addresses and names you have now created your own personal gold mind. Use it cautiously because the last thing in the world you want is for someone to mark you as spam email.
Send out emails to the people that have signed up for your article or newsletter immediately. Make sure that you are sending them email updates periodically. These emails can include advertisements, release information on new products on an as needed basis.
Do Not Abuse the Gold Mind
There are some email marketers that are overly aggressive. These are the people that when you open your email at any given time during the day you have two, three or four emails from them about their product or service. This is abuse, no one needs to be emailed that many times a day unless they are requesting information from you.
If you are to aggressive you can actually push a potential sale away. No one likes to be nagged or harped on or badgered repeatedly.
Use it Wisely and Your Sales Will Increase
If you use email for marketing and you do it tactfully and ethically you will see a dramatic increase in your sales. Treat your potential customers with respect. Remember they came to your website and gave you their information out of trust. They value what you have to offer them, you need to value them as well.
